One of the most over rated Christmas movie is "It's a Wonderful Life"

And every year networks shove it down our throats like it's the only Christmas movie ever made.

Why?

It's a Wonderful Life initially received mixed reviews and was unsuccessful at the box office, it became a classic Christmas film after it was put into the public domain, which allowed it to be broadcast without licensing or royalty fees.

Yet another example of how money and consumerism dictates how we perceive holidays.
