Yes.I am fed up with merely existing.10 months now and no hope in sight.I would welcome death. No rugby ,no cricket,no concerts,no company, treated like a leper by my paranoid sister,no one over the doorstep since February. What’s the point?

@TheSirfurryanimalWales Be stubborn. Find a reason to carry on.

@TheSirfurryanimalWales A lot of us are merely existing but we'd miss you here! 🥺
FurryFace · 61-69, M
@TheSirfurryanimalWales the point is it won't last for ever , just hang in there

@TheSirfurryanimalWales I agree sometimes I wish I would have died back in 2018

@TheSirfurryanimalWales Sorry you're doing it tough.

You know what? We're coming out of this lockdown in Australia. There is light at the end of the tunnel. Hope to see UK turn it around soon.

I have you on my travel agenda if that ever sorts itself out. If I get to Wales I'll drop by. Back in the EP days I met LiteratureGirl in UK - she was lovely.
@Abstraction Our health minister-that’s the Welsh one-made a statement that I interpreted as even everyone getting vaccinated would not lead to normality.
His words which I can’t remember exactly were along the lines of once everyone is vaccinated the government will be able to make life choices for us.In other words you will still only be able to do what we tell you to do.
That sounds like a dictatorship.
Club rugby-as in semi pro and amateur -is scheduled to return in England in late January.
Here our clubs can only do non contact training in small groups,There is no prospect of playing.I look at New Zealand and Australia with envy. And that just makes me more depressed. No one has the faintest idea how to get us out of this as the four nations continue to play politics rather than solve the issue.
And as one of our talk radio presenters just said-The government has taken away our freedoms and they are not going to give them back as we all accepted our lot.
And this presenter -like me-digs beyond the official statements. Our hospitals have fewer people in intensive care than this time last year.Than at anytime over the last five years.
88% of deaths in Britain are not Covid related.96% of Covid deaths are in people who had serious health conditions that were likely to result in their death anyway.
All this can be found on government websites,
But we are just told the NHS is overwhelmed and at breaking point and by repeating this mantra the government is keeping people scared.
And now it’s 7.15 and I have to persuade myself to get up.For another day of nothing. And there is going to be at least five months more of this.
I need something to look forward to.There is nothing to look forward to.
But I am consistently told I am being selfish for wanting my life back.Well I don”t care. There comes a point where the unthinkable becomes reality. But that wouldn’t go down as Covid related!
@FurryFace don’t be so sure about that.
FurryFace · 61-69, M
@TheSirfurryanimalWales the Vaccines should stop it , eventually

@TheSirfurryanimalWales You're not selfish for wanting your life back. You're not alone suffocating in the lockdown conditions. Lots of ordinary people are really struggling.

There were similar theories floating around about our lockdown in Victoria. Social media and Murdoch media full of it. They talked about all kinds of things that were in the Covid legislation to enable police powers and shut down our rights. So I downloaded the legislation and read it. Those claims weren't correct, and it hasn't panned out like that. They had photos which I reverse searched and found were actually old photos of something else. One of those things was posted here so I tracked back where it came from and it came VIA the UK to all the Australian sites. Where did this group from the UK get it from? It began on an 'Australia First' site. So exploring it I found that someone posted, in Russian, that half the writers on the site are from his neighbourhood (a suburb of St Petersburg.) I kid you not.

Now that doesn't mean it's true of the UK - I can't comment. Only that right wing media here were making claims that didn't stack up. We haven't lost any freedoms so far. So I hope that's how it works out for you. Do you have solid evidence or is it claims that are going round? I'm checking in on this because when someone starts to lose hope it's not good. And I'd hate that to happen when the information turns out to be, in the end, incorrect.
@Abstraction We get our daily Covid Assembly Press Conferences, all broadcast, and Vaughan Getting did say what I’ve attributed to him.It set alarm bells ringing because the Assembly has consistently said the only way Wales would be allowed to return to normal is through vaccination. And there he was hinting even that may not be enough.
But Wales Online are so supportive of the Assembly they did not even challenge the statement.
And Drakeford has refused to rule out another lockdown after stating we wouldn’t need one and would have a four nation rule for Christmas.Boris has confirmed the Christmas rule but watch this space.
Concerts optimistically rearranged for the Spring are now biting the dust and County Cricket clubs are asking us for next Summers membership fees, trying to convince us we will be allowed in when no one knows when crowds will be allowed back.
The Six Nations may be postponed if they are going to be crowdless.Unions can’t bear the cost of playing in empty stadiums.

@TheSirfurryanimalWales Not sounding good. And I know you do your homework.

The statement by Gething - was it similar to this one?
"This first delivery plan for our strategy, sets out what we are doing to support people of all ages across every part of Wales to make healthier lifestyle choices. Small changes in our everyday habits can bring significant, lasting health benefits for us all."
https://gov.wales/ps55m-help-prevent-and-reduce-obesity-wales

England sounds like they are still a bit imperious with the way they treat Wales.

@Abstraction Sorry, not trying to be annoying!
@Abstraction that is about something entirely different.
