I Am Going to Say Something Controversial

I'm going to sound really bitchy for a moment here. So someone I work with is having money problems aka they're broke and floundering. My coworkers are pooling together to buy him a Walmart giftcard so he can buy groceries, giving him gas money, offering food.

What? When I became broke nobody rolled out the gift baskets and hospitality for me. I feel bad for the guy but I can't help but to feel salty.
