I Am Going to Say Something Controversial

If perceived "patriotism" is directly correlated to sports viewership ratings (as Trump suggested when he said NFL ratings are tanking because of protests) then how come NASCAR which he just praised for its extreme "patriotism" has had ratings steadily falling off a cliff for the last decade?

The reason why NASCAR doesn't have such a great rating is because there's other motor sports that came along adding more excitement and thrill such as motor cross racing and even midget racing which is coming back really fast.
If I'm being told correctly, black lives matter is the cause of the kneeling. NASCAR believes ALL LIVES MATTER so they will continue to respect the flag.

@SW-User Dixie flag??? A true Southerner and not an American complainer knows it's a flag of southern hospitality. Let me ask you this question. Have YOU ever been to a NASCAR race??? I go to several of them a year. There are African Americans there that also wear Confederate flag shirts. It's only a problem to those who always look to start crap. Unless you have actually been to a race (and trust me when I say this, there's no hatred there at all), I say you can't judge it based on so and so stories.
SW-User
@SW-User BTW! Bubba Wallace wears the shirt too. Oh, and he's a NASCAR camping world, Xfinity and cup driver fill in, in case you didn't know.
SW-User
I've lived in the south my whole life and have been to a couple races and it's pretty much what you'd expect....redneck central. You can't say people kneeling during an anthem is unpatriotic and then call people that are wearing shirts and waving flags that honor treason to be be patriotic and "all lives matter" 😂 Comical stuff.
SW-User
@SW-User So you're justifying it by finding mixed race people that honor the confederate flag? Hey whatever makes it right in your eyes....
SW-User
@SW-User there's a huge difference. The American flag symbolizes freedom fought by military men and women for this country. Standing up is a respect given to the fallen as well as those who serve/served. It's a respect given that no other flag can compare. Like I said, a true southerner understands the Confederate flag. But we don't solute it with respect at any time. Only our American flag gets the respect.

@SW-User I'm not justifying a thing. I was saying you can't show me a pic and direct it into your own words. You may have a problem with things, but there's some (of all kinds) that doesn't see anything the way you see it. Lol. I'm laughing now remembering a child in a restaurant talking about all this hatred junk going on, and she point blank said loudly, "oh, so the ones causing America to turn against each other is actually the one with a problem and anger issue". Lol. She was so cute. Lol

@SW-User I can form an opinion as easy as you assuming NFL players kneeling is a stunt by BLM. It's almost kind of hypocritical though isn't it? People raging against those that are unhappy over how they are treated by laws and officials in this country...and choosing to express their opinion in a country that was founded over people doing the very same thing. How can someone be so tolerant and understanding to what the confederacy and rebel flag stands for...but not be tolerant to others speaking out for what they think and feel is right?
SW-User
@SW-User AND if I might add... My sport, (NASCAR), has been on TV for how many years??? There's never been an issue with the American flag, Confederate flag or christian flag flown. I don't see that sport on the news for any kind of hatred, or disrespect to our flag, country or religion. I'm very thankful for that. Although I'm not a redneck but rather just a country girl, it's always nice to hang out with groups of all kinds and just enjoy the race. When CNN came to the racetrack to see if anyone would kneel down, they were told to turn their ass right around and not start BS there.
I say leave it right where it is. We don't want or need the BS with us!! Lol. And we do pray too. Mostly that y'all get it together.
SW-User
@SW-User Who is this "y'all" you're speaking about? lol 🤔
SW-User
@SW-User Lol. Like I said time and time again, that flag is a sign of southern hospitality. I don't own one. I'll throw that out right now, but I won't disrespect those who do. It's a part of our history. It's part of Civic. I can't hate on those who keep what American history is made of. For those who want to erase it all away, why are they coming up with excuses for it? Why not accept that hundreds of years ago, that's what happened. The question is, are you making a difference to better it, or worsen the issue???
SW-User
@SW-User Those who have issues with it every thing...I'm saying "y'all" too.
SW-User
@SW-User Well as I mentioned there are issues on both sides. "I'm going to judge you for expressing your opinion but don't you dare judge me for expressing mine" is the moronic tendency many have these days. Personally I think both sides are more than entitled to think what they want. Just the typical knee jerk reaction you see these days. It's a plague on all fronts.
SW-User
@SW-User Standing is a sign of respect with your right hand over your heart. Saluting the flag is a sign of respect. Anything else is called being disrespectful. If there's such issues with not respecting your own flag, why the hell are those who disrespect it living here? I say go find your perfect country and keep your ass there. Salute their flag. There's got to be a reason why you stay here, right???
SW-User
@SW-User Well if you listen to what the players say you won't hear them say anything about trying to disrespect the flag, or the troops, or any of the other nonsense agenda people push on them. They've been very clear about their stance from the beginning and like everything else it gets blown out of proportion. They apparently feel the country is not protecting what they hold dear to them...be it family, friends, etc. Not being where some of these guys come from I can't really relate. I didn't grow up worrying about being killed while just taking a walk down the street. If you take issue and want change is that really your answer? Just leave and go start a new country? I think that was tried before back in the 1800's and look how that turned out, lol.
SW-User
@SW-User There's a time and a place to address your personal problems. That's all I'm going to say about that. They are seeking attention and not in the right way. They aren't helping anything by the way they are addressing it, or even where they are taking it. There's a time and a place for that. They just choose to pick the highest rating place on TV to start that crap. Shame on them for doing so. I bet they use an American made pen to cash their checks with no problem.
SW-User
@SW-User Where do people go to protest when they want to raise awareness to what they are protesting? They seek the place where the most people will listen. Otherwise it wouldn't be much of a protest........the fact that it has become an issue is proof enough of that. It's unfortunate that it has been misinterpreted. It's a known fact that many of these guys kneeling are giving money back into their communities and fighting to get legislation to protect the people in them. The misconception is that they are kneeling for themselves....they're not. They are kneeling for people close to them that have been killed or have come close to being killed. A lot of these guys come from nothing and lived in areas I wouldn't even want to drive through let alone live in.
