Isn't it ironic that everything people fear about socialism is already happening under capitalism?

"You will own nothing and be happy about it!" Like how many people currently can't afford to buy a home or even a car?

"The government will take everything and give you almost nothing in return!" Like how companies take all the fruit of your labor and give you crumbs of it back?

Under communism the government owns everything. Under US style capitalism private equity owns everything.

@Crazywaterspring pretty much, if you interpret "everything" a bit loosely. The only difference is that private equity under capitalism owns almost everything for their own gain, while the government under socialism owns almost everything for public use.

@Crazywaterspring I mean it is a bit more complicated than that. Under socialism private property is publicly owned but has no interest in personal property.

Under capitalism it can be argued they also own your personal property as in "digital rights management".

For example a game you purchase through say Steam they can chance or delete without your authorization.

Because purchasing is not owning anymore.
