I believe that conservatism is caused by a lack of empathy. As a species its our primal instinct to look after #1 but we've evidently moved past a state of fighting for survival and we easily have the means to provide and look after all people.

@LJTEFMxGrace So you have never lived in a truly socialist country. You have lived in a capitalist country with a large welfare state. You do need a better education.
