At 10 minute mark you explain the greatness of Catalonia anarchy as a workers paradise without mentioning :

No rule of law:

Everybody created his own justice and administered it himself...Some used to call this 'taking a person for a ride' [paseo] but I maintain that it was justice administered directly by the people in the complete absence of the regular judicial bodies."

— Juan García Oliver, Anarchist minister of justice, 1936[92]

Thousands murdered:

We do not wish to deny that the nineteenth of July brought with it an overflowing of passions and abuses, a natural phenomenon of the transfer of power from the hands of privileged to the hands of the people. It is possible that our victory resulted in the death by violence of four or five thousand inhabitants of Catalonia who were listed as rightists and were linked to political or ecclesiastical reaction."

— Diego Abad de Santillán, editor of Solidaridad Obrera[93]

Antony Beevor estimates the total number of people killed in Catalonia in the summer and autumn of 1936 at 8,352 (out of a total of 38,000 victims of the Red Terror in all of Spain).[97]

@St0ut I mention no such thing. I did not create this video, I just posted it here. The point was not to say every form of socialism ever implemented was awesome. The point, which you clearly missed, is that socialism and capitalism are not mutually exclusive. Socialist ideals can and have been used to the benefit of many. I live in a nation that holds these values and I'm proud of that fact.

@Dolimyte I missed no such point. You posted this You are accountable for its viewpoint
St0ut · 51-55, M
@Dolimyte you live in a nation that holds those values yet. Then you also relay on the my country to defend its borders and ensure your country can trade with others ergo you don’t have the burden of defence cost. We provide that for you.
Dolimyte · 41-45, M
@St0ut That is not relevant to this discusion.
St0ut · 51-55, M
@Dolimyte yes it is. You want to discuss wealth distribution without discussing that budgets have to be met. Taxpayer health care taxpayer university. Could you pay for that if you had to pay to defend yourself?
Dolimyte · 41-45, M
@St0ut yep
St0ut · 51-55, M
Nope. You can’t. Not even close
Dolimyte · 41-45, M
@St0ut Our military may curently be underfunded, but its still very capable and a respected member of NATO. We don't all prioratize military spending so that we can intimidate other nations. There are diplomatic solutions.
St0ut · 51-55, M
How can a military be underfunded but effective. Basically you live under Pax Americana and then extoll the virtues of that which rots the core
Dolimyte · 41-45, M
@St0ut you guys decided you wanted to police the world after WWII. You shouldn't be bitter that others benefited from that decision.
St0ut · 51-55, M
@Dolimyte I am not. I am just stating the fact that you could not afford socialism if you did not have us.
Dolimyte · 41-45, M
@St0ut I disagree. It would perhaps be more of a challenge, but not impossible. The free market isn't the answer to everything, just as socialism isn't either.
