Many countries (including mine) have the seniors benefit (call is Social security or a pension) means tested. So if you have over a certain amount of income or personal wealth, it cuts out..Its obscene that the filthy rich recieve a benefit meant to protect the poor. the same applies to medical and other support government benefits..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman We have paid into social security for our entire working lives. This is NOT AN ENTITLEMENT. Frankly, if a millionaire or billionaire has honesty paid into social security, then they should get the benefit if they claim it. Now, YOU DON’T HAVE TO CLAIM IT.

@KunsanVeteran Valid points. Because of how your system is organised. Ours (like our universal health cover) was a surcharge on income tax. So we dont have an account to pay into. But of course that means the government can select who needs the protection...😷
