I can't say there ever would be, as Gun Trafficking used to be #2 in the USA but now is #3 not because it is less popular but because human trafficking has become more common.
Even if all guns were outlawed there would still be millions trafficked in, if the USA can't even keep illegals out, illegal drugs out, they have no way to keep illegal guns out.
In rural America where I grew up, Deputies are up to 2 hours away to respond to a 911 call...what is people suppose to do without any way to protect themselves while waiting.
