I Am a Gun Owner [Gun Ownership]

Historical items facinate me. Ive always wanted something for my collection representing the Revolutionary war but original items are ungodly expensive. Even reproduction arms are steep.

But i found a company that makes non- firing reproductions that can be activated (and proof fired) where legal.

For $549+ i can get a 1742 1st model Long Land pattern Brown Bess musket. They are made from modern steels but authentic. I think ill be adding one.

I'm not sure I'd say 'authentic', but damn that looks real enough. I know one friend of mine got a Martini Henry (from 50 years later, I know) and would take it boar-hunting, which is a bit chancy for my tastes - you're in trouble if you miss your one shot.

@firefall i aknowledge that "authentic" is a stretch. For the cost its reasonable. And actually seems closer to authentic than some Uberti and Piettas i have.

Also i like "historical" items i can actually use. A real 1700s musket wouldnt be something id risk damaging by shooting it.

@ArnoldJRimmer good point, I wouldn't want to rely on 200+ year old muskets either, even aside of the ludicrous prices
