You are showing your ignorance about firearms. Go to YouTube and search "speed shooting" . All kinds of guns can be fired rapidly with a little practice, and the average hunting rifle is just as accurate, if not more so, is more powerful, and has more range.
@fanuc2013 So if what you're saying is true you should have no problem whatsoever if assault rifles got banned. You may still buy a Glock and mod it into a sniper rifle, why are you so concerned about such an useless ban? 🤣
@Elessar I don't agree with Fanuc, but no, you can't. A Glock or similar pistol only has an effective range of about 120 yards. Even if you put a scope on it, bullet drop and the power behind a pistol calibre wouldn't be useful for sniping.
@fanuc2013 To accurately fire multiple rounds you need serious training and even experts in the field will only hit his mark 7% of the times over distances more than 100 yards.
@basilfawlty89 That's my point indeed. You can't buy a Glock and make it a sniper rifle the same way as you can't buy a Carcano and turn it into a M16 lol
@anythingoes477 you're mistaking the AR-15 civilian rifle for the M16 or its more recent variant, the M4A1. The AR-15, regardless of "scary looks" is semi-automatic whether for hunters, home defense or competition shooting. The M16 and successors are selective fire/fully automatic. They've been banned for civilians since 1989.
I'm not against gun control, I'm all for it. But pistol grips, forward grips, scopes, etc. don't make a gun more lethal. It only affects accuracy and I could argue I'd prefer a more accurate firearm in case there's an innocent bystander.
@basilfawlty89 There are plenty of M16's around....and sear kits to go full auto can be bought all over the internet and you dont even need tools to install them other than a pin punch. And i fully understand the difference between an AR mil rifle and an AR platform that deals more with looks than military function.
@Vin53 It usually does. The 5.56/.223 round is made to tumble end over end on impact. This usually stops the round within the human body. This effect is called key holing and is what cause the hydrostatic shock making this round have very good stopping power despite it's small caliber and weight bullet. This also causes the traumatic wounds the 5.56 is known for.
