Desantis over trump

Just saw a Desantis campaign ad where Trump is shown siding with the Democrats on gun control. That's not a good look for Trump! We need a leader who will defend the second amendment

Just curious and this is coming from someone who lives in a country with very strict gun controls. Why is the second amendment so important to you Americans? I mean it was meant to keep the individual sovereign but all I see is America rushing off to start endless wars and have fraudulent elections and ..... Where is the sovereign citizen saying no to this evil? Then there is the whole social destruction of the US nation and nary a peep from the gun lovers. Amazing. So again what is so important about the 2nd Amendment if it is never used as intended?

@hippyjoe1955 you have to understand that the US was born through revolution and war. A bunch of drunk libertarian farmers and tades men won a war against the largest professional fighting force of the day. Also the concept of a document used to regulate government and not the population was an absolute new idea of the day and not infringing on the rights to arms is viewed as a safety net incase of tyrant resigme came to power it can be easily over thrown.
Also incase of violent envision it can be repelled and short lived... [media=https://youtu.be/rjAl_kbAxmc]
The cartoon may explain it better than what i could put into words...

@Ozuye502 The 2nd amendment was all about individual liberties and the right to change government by force is need be. If ever there was a need to change government it is now and since the ballot box is no longer and option....

@hippyjoe1955 soap box ballot box ammo box the 3 boxes of liberty when the first 2 fail the 3rd should always be an option. But yes that is why the oath of service is to the constitution and not the government

@Ozuye502 Sadly that fact seems to elude most people who take up arms in defense of the country. The endless and countless wars the US has started since the end of WWII surely indicates an out of control government.
Ozuye502 · 36-40, M
@hippyjoe1955 well its not exactly the US starting them all i mean Korea Vietnam and Desert Storm were responses to invasions.
But i will agree with you in that the American government is out of control.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Ozuye502 No they were all started by the US. Desert storm was of no importance to the US. Can you explain Libya?
Ozuye502 · 36-40, M
@hippyjoe1955 i am not too well versed on the history of libya us relations to make that call.
However, desert storm 1 was 100% in response to an invasion. And there was an interest that was in danger oil.
Desert Storm 2 that i will agree it wasn't exactly a justified war.

Other rights mean absolutely nothing if you can't defend yourself. If you can't defend yourself, other rights vanish overnight.

@Stargazer89 Completely agree with you. The sad part is Americans don't seem to be defending any of their rights with few exceptions. Look at the 'hate speech' laws. You can't even tell a joke without someone retaliating.

@hippyjoe1955 ah the rise of cancel culture... those are generally the same people who are anti gun doing that shit. There are individuals and groups pushing against it but they don't the same media coverage because the media is in DNP pockets.
