@DCarey The U.K. ranks much lower in violent crime than the U.S. According to Nationmaster.com the U.S. ranks 82% more in total crimes, and 138% more than the U.K. in firearm related crimes, total murder rate is 18 times higher in the U.S. compared to the U.K.

How are they working?

They seem not to be working. Is this because it is inherently impossible for gun ordinances to work or because the laws exist but the means of enforcing them do not? Or is it because the laws and ordinances are badly drawn?

@ninalanyon It is because, as stated above, criminals and those with malice in their heart will find a weapon, laws be damned. Criminals by definition don't care about gun laws. The problem in London is knives. Should they ban knives? What about the black supremacist who killed children at a Christmas parade in Wisconsin by plowing through them with a car. Should we ban cars?

@DCarey 2021 NYC had 488 murders and about 8.2 million people, a rate of about 6 per 100k. London had a rate of 1.4 per 100k.
