Would US gun control be more likely if...

..the media didn't censor and sanitize mass shootings to avoid "disturbing" viewers. What we see is clean, routine outside shots of police and others walking around the scene, blurred images (if any) of victims, etc., when the reality of today is made up of the screams of terrified children and adults, the bullet-savaged bodies of 18 children lying in pools of their own blood and their classmates' blood on school floors, the pain of the survivors being rushed to hospital. A mass shooting is a horror and we should be forced to confront that horror and not allow it to be hidden from view to prevent America from being "upset" by reality. :'(

Apparently there are 50 senators who Refuse to vote for more restrictive gun laws. If they all voted the US would be a better place.
Who is stopping them/financially encouraging them not to vote against? … the NRA.

@justanothername Shall I take a guess which side of politics most of these Senators come from??😷
justanothername · 51-55, M
@whowasthatmaskedman You can if you want.

@justanothername And then I could guess what kind of @$$hole$ voted for those people in the first place. In the end, sadly, it is true that we all get the kind of government we deserve. Federal, State or city. So I guess everyone is happy to pay the price of knowing their kids may not come home.😷

@justanothername there's the filibuster. But nobody wants to go there-. Just me.
Changeisgonnacome · 61-69, F
@justanothername the American people. No public funded election? You get what you payed for-. No government.
justanothername · 51-55, M
@Changeisgonnacome It’s probably easier to elect a President than to change gun regulations in the US.
Changeisgonnacome · 61-69, F
@justanothername of course-. Failure is a guarantee.

@Changeisgonnacome Bit of a Captain Neggy Pants aren’t we.

@justanothername Vote for someone else.

@justanothername Gun laws wouldn't deter anyone intent on shooting a bunch of people.
justanothername · 51-55, M
@RedBaron Overall traffic control laws seem to work for the majority of the population so why can’t gun control laws?
RedBaron · M
@justanothername Because anyone angry, psychotic, demented et al enough to consider shooting a bunch of people isn't ethical or rational enough to be concerned with laws or rules.
