Would US gun control be more likely if...

..the media didn't censor and sanitize mass shootings to avoid "disturbing" viewers. What we see is clean, routine outside shots of police and others walking around the scene, blurred images (if any) of victims, etc., when the reality of today is made up of the screams of terrified children and adults, the bullet-savaged bodies of 18 children lying in pools of their own blood and their classmates' blood on school floors, the pain of the survivors being rushed to hospital. A mass shooting is a horror and we should be forced to confront that horror and not allow it to be hidden from view to prevent America from being "upset" by reality. :'(

Gun control will be more likely if they declare an open season on politicians and judges. Then things will get put right real quick. But if you dont like guns, Leave America. Sadly its come to that. Everyone with a gun is afraid of everyone else. Why? Because they have a gun. Fear was a pandemic in America long before Covid,😷

@whowasthatmaskedman Think about this… it’s far easier to not own a gun than to casually stand amongst a group of people in a social environment littered with infected people and not get Covid.

@justanothername Yes. I havent had Covid either.But thats not the point. Ultimately there is no way to get guns away from the American people. There are just too many guns out there and too many insecure people. We are debate the how and why of that, but it makes no difference. If you dont want to risk your kids, leave. Its not as if their are not better places. (and Yes, I get their are worse places as well.)😷

@whowasthatmaskedman true enough. Ten days ago the senate unanimously passed a bill extending security protections to Supreme Court family members because of some measly protests. So frustrating

@whowasthatmaskedman I haven’t had covid either fortunately, and I don’t own a gun.

@whowasthatmaskedman Back in the early 70s no cars had seat belts. Then in an effort to help road safety and prevent injuries in the event of a car crash a law was introduced making seatbelts mandatory in new cars.
Amazingly enough it started to reduce the amount of injuries sustained in a car crash

@justanothername I get it. Laws even now would help. But not enough.. After seat belts came tighter speed limits, crumple zones, air bags. Alcohol and drug testing. And still people die. Hell, people still refuse to wear a seat belt. And there the threat is primarily to yourself. Imagine if everyone drove a Tank..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman Imagine how bad it would be if none of those improvements had been implemented…
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@justanothername Or if everyone claimed freedom to drive any way they liked...😷

@whowasthatmaskedman As long as you drive in an off road or controlled environment type situation.
