Are "mass shootings" really a threat, Looking at statistics from several countries, is one or two per million really something to fear on a daily basis.

Average (Mean) Annual Death Rate per Million People from Mass Public Shootings (U.S., Canada, and Europe, 2009-2015):
Norway — 1.888
Serbia — 0.381
France — 0.347
Macedonia — 0.337
Albania — 0.206
Slovakia — 0.185
Switzerland — 0.142
Finland — 0.132
Belgium — 0.128
Czech Republic — 0.123
United States — 0.089
Austria — 0.068
Netherlands — 0.051
Canada — 0.032
England — 0.027
Germany — 0.023
Russia — 0.012
Italy — 0.009

In addition, a 2018 CRPC study ranked the U.S. at number sixty-four in the world in terms of mass shooting rates per capita.

I am more likely to die in a car accident because someone is drunk or playing with their cell phone than encountering a mass shooter.

@Darksideinthenight2 The US is the 8th from the bottom of the list. Deaths in the US are 0.089 per million. This study mentions a CRPC study, I haven't read yet, that places the US at number 64 in mass shooting deaths.

@Roadsterrider The the statistics are greatly misleading, though. The US alone cannot agree on a definition of what a mass shooting is and there's disparity disparity even among agencies. Extrapolated and placed over an entire globe, the definitions don't even match up so certainly the statistics aren't going to be accurate.

@Graylight So it doesn’t fit your narrative. Got it.👍🏻

@MrBrownstone I don't have a narrative. Gun violence doesn't need one - it speaks for itself. But you need to understand the tools you work with. Otherwise, you could end up a blathering conservative.

@Graylight How has all the gun laws worked out?
Graylight · 51-55, F
@MrBrownstone What effing gun laws? I can build a shooting range in my backyard if I'm 500 ft away from a school. My state's getting ready for open carry without a license.

@Graylight Do you not know how to look up things online?
