Suspect kills 10 at Buffalo supermarket mass shooting (this happened today May 14, 2022)

BUFFALO, N.Y. - A gunman in military-style clothing opened fire with a rifle at a supermarket in Buffalo, New York, in what authorities called a "hate crime and racially motived violent extremism," killing 10 people and wounding three others before being taken in custody Saturday afternoon, law enforcement officials said.

How are those gun laws working in Chicago?
Elessar · 26-30, M
@MrBrownstone Idk, but in countries where you can't buy rifles at the supermarket these things don't happen anywhere as frequently, if at all. I wonder why 🤔
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@Elessar You sure?
Elessar · 26-30, M
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@Elessar Sure that’s accurate? Because it’s online
Elessar · 26-30, M
@MrBrownstone "Sure it's accurate? Because it doesn't fit my agenda"

Sorry to disappoint, but republican agendas have been pretty detached from reality for quite a while.
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@Elessar I can find stats too. So you will have to accept it
Elessar · 26-30, M
@MrBrownstone Please, find me any piece of statistics in which European countries, Canada, Australia, New Zealand have numbers comparable to the U.S. in terms of mass shootings / yr. I'll wait.
TheRascallyOne · 31-35, M
@Elessar I thought in England stabbins were equal to the shootings in the US
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@Elessar And you will accept it.
zerofuks2give · 41-45, M
@Elessar many of those countries have gun laws similar to the U.S. so why are there so few shootings there?
SW-User
@Elessar rifles in supermarkets? Then why didn't everyone in the store grab one?

Doofus

Strange, I wonder why I can't find any video like this testing guns sold at Aldi 🤔

Ah right we don't sell firearms to any random idiot here.
Elessar · 26-30, M
@zerofuks2give Uhm, no. Can't think of many first world countries were gun laws are as lax as the U.S. and coincidentally, I can't think of many other first world countries whose yearly number of mass shootings comes with three digits (or even two, in most cases)

@Elessar Aldi's is like Walmart. They sell a bit of everything. Quite mendacious for you to insinuate that every corner grocery has an arsenal of guns for sale.

But all leftist arguments are dishonest by nature
Elessar · 26-30, M
@MrBrownstone Yeah, now open that link.
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@Elessar I did
Elessar · 26-30, M
@SW-User And quite mendacious for you to twist my point around. Actually quite expected, because fascistoids who can't argument will always resort in strawmans, ad hominem, and other bullshit infantile deviations.

To sum it up, "there are supermarkets in the U.S. that sell firearms" ≠ "all supermarkets sell firearms".

I'm not arguing with you on whether there are also grocery stores who don't, I'm saying that in the rest of the civilized world there are no supermarkets that sell those (along many other gun regulation practices in place that keep the number of yearly mass shootings proximal to zero, and not around 200).

@TheRascallyOne uk stabbings are nowhere near USA
Elessar · 26-30, M
@MrBrownstone You don't really seem to know what a "statistic" is. You've literally screenshotted a list from the description of a link. A list that compares you to India (second world country with like 5x your population), DPRK (okay..), Israel (a warzone),..
zerofuks2give · 41-45, M
@Elessar Canada, Switzerland, Norway, Finland….. They all have similar laws and rates of gun ownership, what do they do different than us? I’m not looking for a debate, I’m looking for answers. We have background checks, we have classes and certifications for concealed carry, we have all kinds of rules and regulations regarding gun ownership. So what is different about America? I do think all these countries have universal healthcare correct? Is that the missing link? Access to mental health care? I honestly don’t understand.
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@Elessar Mad it doesn’t fit your narrative I see.
SW-User
@Elessar Why are you even here. Your opinion doesn't matter.

You hail from a 3rd rate Banana Republic where everyone is too stoned on vino to hit the target
OggggO · 36-40, M
@MrBrownstone Although that page you screenshotted the google result for had no comparative list of countries in terms of numbers of shootings, it did have this paragraph:
The United States has had the most mass shootings of any country.[27][28][29][30][31] In one 2017 study published in Time magazine by criminologist Adam Lankford, it was estimated that 31% of public mass shootings occur in the US, although it has only 5% of the world's population.[32] The study concludes that "The United States and other nations with high firearm ownership rates may be particularly susceptible to future public mass shootings, even if they are relatively peaceful or mentally healthy according to other national indicators."[33]

So, maybe learn to check your sources, and also how to actually cite them.
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@OggggO Was your source fact checked. Like the hunter laptop story was “fact checked”?
