Gun control will not stop violence.
What we need to do is change the conscious minds of our youths and put out public service
announcements in the community.

@Zonuss in countries where there is gun control, we don’t have mass shootings because you can’t walk into a store and just get a gun.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@iamonfire696 If they do this here in the US they will only buy different weapons. Bombs, knives, hand grenades, flamethrowers, bow and arrows. I mean this is the US.
Not Canada. We are violent. ☺️

@Zonuss Here in the UK we have a gun ban. So countless people carry out attacks with knives or acid, or homemade explosives, instead. So you can slowly die from knife wounds or a half melted face, or brain damage, instead.

@Zonuss OK that's great but if a person is fired or thrown out on the street by his partner then a service announcement isn't going to calm him down much. We need more free apartments for the homeless and flexible work environments for parents and no fire policies for employers.

@Carazaa It isn't that simple. Here in the UK, we have "free" socialised everything. But even then, a lot of people turn their noses up at these services because it still requires a little effort on their part. (not to mention how much 'free' money is spent on drugs and videogames) Most people don't want to make an effort with anything, just enough to get by, and the problem is that prosperity in society can only be achieved if we strengthen ourselves on the individual level. And that takes self responsibility, something many people don't want to take on.

@pianoplayingsteve Usually its just one person who dies if there is a bar fight, not 20 like in the USA.
Carazaa · F
@pianoplayingsteve I don't think people like to be homeless!
pianoplayingsteve · 31-35, M
@Carazaa I think 20 is a bit exaggerated. We have to remember the USA is much, much more populated than the UK, so just by default for sheer statistical reasons, everything is going to seem much more numerous there :)
pianoplayingsteve · 31-35, M
@Carazaa I cannot for the life of me remember where I said, or even suggested, that people like being homeless :)

@pianoplayingsteve Every day there is a murder, today a few died, Yesterday more than 20 were injured in Miami from a gun. The day before 9 killed,
Carazaa · F
@pianoplayingsteve More than 60 murders in May alone!
pianoplayingsteve · 31-35, M
@Carazaa Yes, and I'd ask, why has it become so frequent just very very frequently. The US has had armed citizens since its inception, and even automatic weapons since the 40s. Yet pretty much no shootings, but now it's a regular thing. It's almost as if this has more to do with some sort of division of society and constant negative, finger pointing, depressing attitudes pushed onto society by people with large platforms. Because it wasn't like this for a very long time, and with the vast majority of people, they don't think "this object can kill people, so i think i should kill people". I think these root causes need to be addressed, else i think they will manifest horribly elsewhere too. And I think banning innocent people from having an inanimate object will also cause other issues down the line, too. We want to blame, we want to ban things, we want to make quick rash decisions for show, but we don't want to think about things thoroughly.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@Carazaa Not that simple.
Carazaa · F
@pianoplayingsteve Im not sure thats true at all. There have been shootings for a long time, but its increased lately to a daily occurence. I have written many posts, and a day ago, and even today about the programs in the workplace, better mass transits, and social programs that can be implemented in the USA that the rest of western countries use. Why has it increased? People are falling away from their faith in Jesus everywhere! And In scandinavia we can't fire willy nilly, people have stronger social protecion, you don't need a car which is a stress for teens and young people needing to get to work in most states in the USA, and communities are not as well planned or connected as in Europe. But all over the world there is an increase of cold hearts. Governments on every continent have been at a standstill like never before. Jesus said that in the end times people would have increased knowledge but more iniquity, colder hearts, terrors, more disasters, and a falling away which are signs we are at the end.

@Zonuss Its really that simple! The rest of western society have done it so can the USA!
