@PiecingBabyFaceTogether From a few seconds of googling I found that there were 611 just last year and there have been 232 so far this year (as of May 26th). It's really too soon to tell. But it's unlikely the gvmt even has anything to do with it, considering most of them don't get a noticeable amount of coverage outside their relative area.

@PiecingBabyFaceTogether Not only were there many mass shootings when Trump was president, Trump incited some of them. Remember the El Paso killings of 22 Hispanics? 61 dead and over 500 wounded by a Trump nut in Las Vegas? 27 dead at a church shooting at Sutherland Springs, Tx? 10 dead at a high school shooting in Santa Fe, Texas? 13 dead at a bar in Thousand Oaks, California? 10 more dead in Dayton? @windinhishair I'm not American so you do know better and I'm alright with that because it makes sense that you do. This is still is fucked up and needs to stop. People who are simply having a good time don't deserve to die in this disturbing way 😔

@PiecingBabyFaceTogether It is very much fucked up. I follow the news, but when I was looking at the listing before posting it, there were many mass murders I had never even heard of. It is so bad that only the worst ones get much press any more. The smaller mass killings don't even make the national news, only local news.

It does need to stop. If other countries can do it, the US should be able to as well.

@LordShadowfire Sometimes unintended consequences can be good coming from a bad situation. Flu cases and deaths were way down this year due to the masks and social distancing.
