It really amazes me people are more concerned with taking guns away when drugs are the number one killer and your ok with that more people die in car accidents but we don’t go after the automobile makers or ask for tougher standards for drivers.
@Lefty63 .. or cigarettes and cancer ..
@Lefty63 Actually, they are going after the drugs that are killing people. But while your drug use won't necessarily kill me, if you're waving a gun around a stray bullet might. And you do have to have a license to legally drive a car. Imagine if you had to have a license and proof of passing gun safety classes before being allowed to purchase a firearm !
I have a license to carry mine I also have training most people with drivers licenses do not obey the rules and laws of the roads and if you call giving free narcolone so the can OD again that’s the only thing I see being done and at my tax dollars expense @bijouxbroussard
@Lefty63 Most people don’t obey the traffic laws ? Most states don’t require a license to buy a gun, just a background check. And at some gun shows they don’t always do that.
@bijouxbroussard I have no problem having to have a gun owner's license or to take and pass a gun safety course to own a gun. It is required to hunt in most states and I would actually prefer that it be the case for gun ownership for general education and safety purposes. I would also like to see controls on individual-individual sales.

That last one and closing the gaps re gun shows will slow expansion of illegal gun possessions, but reality is there are too many out there and those people will not follow any laws we enact. There are too many with mental illness whose rights are put ahead of the safety of society that are getting through the existing background checks and given legal right to buys guns.
