What is your stance on gun control?

SW-User
I’ve debated with many people who are pro gun control and I destroy them every time.It either ends with them calling me a bot/ troll and blocking me or they just stop responding. Gun control is a false security. This country was literally built on smuggling we’ve always been a country of smugglers so prohibition on anything will never work. Personally I don’t see the need for me to own a gun but that doesn’t mean no one should own one

Always assume the gun is loaded. Always point the muzzle in a safe direction - away from anyone and anything you would not want to destroy. Keep your finger away from the trigger until you are aligning the sites with the target. Be aware of your target and what is near to and behind it.

@TexChik indeed

I don't have a problem with gun control to a point. When people start trying to interchange "control" with "ban" then it's worrisome.

We had gun safety classes in high school and were taught gun control is a good aim and steady hand and knowing what your target is.

Guns don't kill people. People kill people... more efficiently with guns.
Maddog73 · 51-55, M
Actually inforce the laws and regulations already in place no need to create more
TexChik · F
enforcing the laws already on the books would be a great first step

I prefer no guns in civilian hands for any reason...
TexChik · F
@Tracos I would prefer gun safety classes start in first grade and continue through high school . In America having guns in civilian hands is precisely why we have our constitution and are free of tyranny . 350 million guns in private ownership are here to stay ... so instead of nonsensical and impractical ideas ... like disarming 80 million constitution loving Americans let’s deal with the elephant in the room... school shootings . The most practical approach is to allow well trained teachers to carry . Those who have qualified at the range and in defensive handgun tactics as well as security measures should be authorized for concealed carry in schools . For their troubles they should be compensated ( say an extra $350 per month and free ammo and range time ) and be provided recurring training . Libs whine that approach is impractical ... but it’s not . It’s common sense and libs know that. They would rather have the political issue rather than a solution . Teachers are at risk and get to huddle in their class rooms at regular pay , so I would imagine many would like the ability to defend themselves and their students . Trump is right ! No mass murderer is going to want to walk into an enclosed environment where well trained and motivated adults rain deadly fire on their parade . They just aren’t going to do it . Then while they're engaged fighting for their life the police will have had time to get there and with the help of those same teachers be able to immediately locate and take down the threat . That makes much more sense than assuming Americans will give up their freedoms or amend the constitution .

I prefer prone to standing..... It gives me much better gun control.
TheProphet · M
Not in favor of it.
Helganvisari25 · 51-55, M
I was actually very afraid of asking the question. People have to be very careful what they express nowadays.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Helganvisari25 Its a shame thats true. Implicit in the right to free speech is the right to be heard.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
First.. Keep two hands on the sucker at all times.. Second.. Keep them away from Psychologically unstable people and add 25 years to anyone with a criminal record caught with one.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
The only country with a spree killing problem is the only country with super super lax gun control.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@SW-User You will never stop all mass killings. They happen, and have always happened. The US just has WAY WAY WAY WAY more than would be considered 'normal'. However, you can make them harder. By your logic, China should have around 140% the spree killings the US does. Instead, they are extremely rare in China.

Getting illegal stuff is always possible, but it's usually pretty hard. I doubt there'll be guys selling AK-47s out of vans outside of high schools.
SW-User
@CountScrofula mass killings are pretty rare in China but that’s because the government controls everything and they will kill you themselves and cover it up Christians are being killed in China everyday. A wife isn’t allowed to visit her husband in the United States because they are afraid she won’t come back.
@CountScrofula

We are unlike any other country ... our citizens have natural rights ... and a completely representative form of government.

These don't make us special ... they form the basis of what makes our nation economically, benevolently, innoventionally and militarily number 1.
There is no way to achieve any effective outcome without violating one or more Natural rights.

So ... it is not going to happen
Deadcutie · 18-21, F
I buy my gunns based on the answer to the question " will this kill a velociraptor?"
SW-User
I am in favor of it. Adding in more guns and blaming mental illness, video games and movies for the reasons that all shootings happen is not going help solve America's gun problem.

Depends on the recoil
