Essential Gov't Functions Not Impacted By A "Shut Down"

☝ Explains why hardly anyone notices the difference.

I do find the bullet point about the US Postal Service being self-funded "amusing" given USPS has lost nearly $100 billion over the last 15 years.

Many of those people you listed, like our service people, must work without pay till the shutdown ends. Yes, they will get back pay. Yes, going without the meager pay they recieve, for even a short while, puts many of them in financial straights. You can deny that, of course. But, you would be wrong. Again.
@Carla Well Carl, if you really feel that way, maybe the Dems shouldn't have used free health care for illegal aliens as the line in the sand? I know, I know...the left denies it. Well, except for Ro Khanna and Shri Thanedar. Now, you may not be aware of this, but your party really doesn't give a shit about illegal aliens. If we add citizenship to the census, cleanse the voter rolls, and simplify the voting process including voter ID, your party will drop the immigration reform narrative faster than a flaming turd. So, what Chuckie-poo and company really want is a $1.5 trillion influx of money to continue funding their paid agitators and corrupt pet projects. And that just ain't gonna happen....no matter how many tantrums Hakeem Jeffries throws.

With respect to your talking point about financial dire straits:

Federal employees have been paid through September, so the meter starts running now...

The typical pay frequency is twice a month. So...there is no pay issue if the shutdown lasts more than 2 weeks. The 3 shutdowns below are the only ones that have gone beyond 2 weeks, the worst lasting 35 days. So tell us, who was materially impacted from the previous three instances?

@Carla Most of these folks will look at it as extra paid vacation, they will not be unhappy about it.
And nothing of consequence will not be done. @DogMan

@jackjjackson Yep, compared to private companies it takes 4 government employees to do the work of one private
employee.

When private employees get over busy they work longer hours. When a government employee gets busy, they hire
another person, so it never happens again. But somehow it does.
Hopefully this will result in more riddance to bad rubbish. @DogMan

Business as usual for that ilk. They learn to parrot one thing. @BizSuitStacy
@jackjjackson It's amazing. They don't question what they read or hear on tv. They don't bother to validate whether the info is true, or if something is taken out of context, and simply don't think things through.

Sunshine-girl tried telling me that garbage was piling up and toilets were overflowing at national parks during a shutdown. How could that be happening if the parks are closed to the public?
