Congressional Failure
When in the course of human events it becomes necessary to again ban assault weapons and automatic handguns. Ever since 2004 the level of gun related violence has reached the point that we face a national security problem of epic proportions. The Constitution makes it quite clear that the right to bear arms only pertains to a well-regulated Militia. What has happened is that the Supreme Court, Congress and even the public keep interpreting the Constitution for specific agendas.
The safety of all of our citizens is paramount to having a country being stable and secure in an environment that produces a growing economy. When the level of gun violence that continues to escalate almost on a weekly basis has made our nation less secure. To date Congress the NRA lobbyists and the White House refuse to reinstate the original assault weapon ban of 1994.
There is plenty of blame to go around to why our nation can't get its house in order. Back in the early 1990's funding for mental health was being restricted and even today mental health facilities are either nonexistent or very short staffed. Thats just part of the bigger issues of why this nation has one of the world's highest gun related homicides, school shootings and so many other gun related crimes. Another part is the public is being saturated with news of gun related crimes. The lack of empathy and the continued rise of apathy by our population have yet to emerge as a rallying cry to initiate pressure on Congress to evoke a ban on assault weapons like the ban imposed in 1994.
The question is this, do we as a collective society have the sincerity to realize just how ineffective Congress, this Administration, and the Supreme Court have been in dealing with the many crises they themselves have made? We had better wake up to the fact our whole government from Trump on down continues to fail the American public.
The many crises this nation faces not only with our almost daily gun related assaults but our whole economic and financial future stability for millions of Americans have to be addressed now. Remember that it takes a well-educated participating public to preserve our democratic way of life. Ther is a way to emerge from the many crises that have befallen this nation by the incompetence of the Trump Administration, an ineffective Congress and dubious Supreme Court rulings.
To do this requires a plan of direction for short stability and long-term security both economically and financially. The United States hasn't had any kind of plan of direction since JFK. When more of us realize what National Economic Reform's Ten Articles of Unification will do when implemented the sooner our nation will finally bridge the economic and financial divides that are now tearing this nation apart.
