The USDA Secretary Is Moving To Block Food Stamps From Illegals…

It didn’t just start under Biden. When I was working at Walmart in 2011 a woman would come to talk to me and said her son worked for the DHS here. And that a lot of illegals were getting food stamps and other benefits. Imagine all that money from taxes. And how much it would add up to if it hadn’t happened. Compare this to immigrants who apply for a visa to enter the USA, if they are sponsored by a family member that person has to sign a form saying that the person they are sponsoring will not be using benefits from the government for a set amount of years. That was doing the right thing.

No this one can't be put on Biden.
The system is allowed to be worked and people work it.

There was a PERSON I worked with making a salary similar to mine.
She was making good money and working the system as well. She not only had a Snap card she was collecting SSI (disability) as well. I don't know how they get away with it but they are criminals as far as I'm concerned. And the government workers that obviously knowingly allow this are also.

@cherokeepatti It absolutely is a city thing.

@Gibbon There was a time when I was married to my ex and had little money for groceries. He would say “You need to go apply for food stamps”. But he was drinking & smoking any time he had money instead of trying to save a bit even when he had a good job during the oil boom. We rent a little house in a rural area and made a garden that I worked very hard for and raised a lot of vegetables, canned some of it, frozen some when i finally got a freezer and made other canned foods from berries or other fruit I’d get given to me. If it wasn’t for that and the little bit I put back in the pantry every month during spring & summer when he was working more we wouldn’t have had food. And I wouldn’t go beg any food off of relatives like his sister-in-law did when her husband was out of work when it rained (construction work). I guess it was pride and it would have been shameful for me to ask for help when he was blowing money right & left when he had it. I learned how to cook meals with what I had including chicken backs, cheap cuts of meat, beans and canned veggies. I see people with food stamps buying all manner of junk foods, soft drinks and expensive steaks etc. and just shake my head thinking it would have been like winning a lottery if I had them back then when it was rough. This is just one reason I learned to cook so many kinds of food, baked bread & other things and cook beans & other inexpensive foods sometimes so that this teenage boy will learn to appreciate those things. We have money now but you never know what you will need to do to survive if you don’t have much money.

@cherokeepatti I know all about struggling with money but for far different reasons. My 2nd ex was a financial disaster to me. Any money she saw coming was spent before it arrived.
When Vickie came to live with me I decided she wasn't going to work.
This apartments low price allowed me to comfortably take care of both of us. When she became ill she decided to apply for SSI rightfully. It took 2 years getting approved. Snap came with it. Between me and her assistance we both financially recovered from previous $ despair. She was only on it for less than 2 years before she passed.
Living on only my SocSec and a very small pension I am financially in the best way I've ever been and my credit rating near the max drifting up and down. I would love to rub my comeback in my ex's face.
And don't get me wrong I would still be in the same financial position without Vickie acquiring some income for herself.
But I will never forget the dismal hardship that women emotionality and financially caused me.
However if I'm ever forced from this apartment I'll be in trouble. I will never find a place priced like this old house again.

should crack down on people giving their food stamps away too; If people don't use them themselves, then they obviously didn't need them to begin with
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@wildbill83 They are selling them to get money for alcohol and other things.
Jake966 · 56-60, M
I hope they take food stamps from every illegal. That is the right thing to do.
graphite · 61-69, M
Democrats want to make permanent Democrat voters out of these illegals, so Democrats would never lose another election. It didn't work out in 2024.

@graphite I guess they can whine & plot & scheme to change this at their next Cornbread & Beans meeting here.
Moving to?

Just do it!
