I assume you are referring to the US. The Republican and Democratic parties have changed dramatically in 160 years. Today the Republicans have become very tight, not what we used to call conservation. They are the party of trump, personally that upsets me. The seem to oll back so many human rights achieved as part of the development of a "more perfect" country, claiming that the original institution must be interpreted as written we saw the show Duffs last night, it really reminded the viewer of how.much is at risk.

@JSul3 Typically, a tribe is built by the male members of a tribe and so yes that tribe is going to benefit the people who created it. How can you create anything if you aren't going to make it for yourself to be able to use?

What Buchanan said was true....our sordid history shows it to be so....but it was a vile comment. Yes, the great (?) founding fathers were all rich, white land owners. To them, everyone else was secondary or worse.

OMG! Roads, bridges, houses, schools, post office, librairies, hospitals....all built for the common good! That means everybody! We all benefit.

@samueltyler2 My boyfriend has set up companies and charities in the UK, the EU and Asia, his foodbank charity for the homeless is one of the largest in Asia, and he absolutely despises socialism

@samueltyler2 The DEmocrats have never changed. They have always been the party of racism, wars and bad economies for the country. The Republicans have changed in that they have created a split in their ranks: one side the blue blood Rockefeller side and the other the blue collar free market side. And they are constantly in conflict.

They tend to fix the problems their preceding republicans create, then the following republicans destroy that!
