In Church last Sunday, a sweet elderly lady in a nearby pew was heard saying a prayer. She was so innocent and sincere that I just had to share it with you:

"Dear Lord: The past year has been very tough. You have taken my favourite actors - Sean Connery, Kirk Douglas, and Diana Rigg; my favourite game show host - Alex Trebek; my favourite singer from the '50s - Little Richard; my two favourite country and western singers - Charlie Daniels and Kenny Rogers; my favourite football player - Gale Sayers, and my favourite basketball player - Kobe Bryant. As this New Year begins, I just wanted you to know that my favourite politicians are Donald Trump, Mitch McConnell, Ted Cruz, and Lindsey Graham. Amen."

She mustn't care about babies, who are being taken by the millions in the abortion mills thanks to Democrat policies.

A pro-life Catholic lawmaker in the Nebraska Legislature is switching his party registration from Democrat to Republican because of the Democratic Party’s staunch support of abortion.

@graphite As a man are you in the least bit concerned about the effect your sperm has on the life of a woman who is not your wife? Who are you (or any man other than a husband) to dictate the future of another person's ability to live their own life? Yes, a woman becoming pregnant may be a sign of negligence on her part, but it may also be a result of desperation to find support, rape or just trusting the wrong male person. Yet you are concerned about an embryo that you would otherwise not be aware about - and blatantly put: don't really give a 'fuck' about supporting it.

@JollyRoger You don't even live in the US. Why do you care? Looks like your own prime minister has some serious problems.

Excerpt - Michael Higgins: Trudeau outdoes himself with another disastrous India trip
There seems to be no end to the embarrassment Trudeau can cause Canada

@graphite I care because no matter how quiet the neighbourhood is, when you know there's a possibility of a 'crazy' moving in next door, you don't really feel comfortable: 'Carrot-top' would sell anyone's baby to a butcher-shop for a single vote!
As for our PM.... We're seeing some serious 'jockeying' going on up here as the Conservatives are seeing the Liberals suddenly start delivering on some programs while their 'offers' don't hold much weight (yet). We're expecting to hear some real proposals coming from the Conservatives soon because of it BUT... for the present, they are just kicking up dust and name-calling. That's what you are seeing in those headlines. Suggestion: Check out the author of the story versus the action that occurred and you should see what I mean. If you've been following the 'India vs Canada' issue for a while you'll know that India is not our 'friend' at this time - They set out to make us look bad about 6 years ago and saw how it might cause a stir and embarrass the government, so, why not try it again?
Again: On the matter of immigration to Canada - yes, we have many (too many?) immigrants but there were crises that we met that caused that: Immigrants from Syria, immigrants from Ukraine, Immigrants from the USA (yes, your folks are moving here too (Do you wonder why??). We'll cope with that, but the 'temporary' ones will be the first tap to turn off - Our universities have been making money (2x tuition) charged against foreign students and that has put pressure on our domestic need for trained persons because the foreign ones leave afterward - taking the training with them and leaving us with a shortage of professionally trained people. The government is realizing that.
So - it's not just "Trudeau's fault" it's a combination of CoVID job loss, CoVID costs in general, world turmoil and a lack of resolve from young Candians to step up to take the open jobs that the immigrants are now taking, thus we have more people on welfare than the number who REALLY NEED assistance. Yes, it happened since the Liberals came into government, but even the Conservatives would have had to wear this stuff if it had been them 'on watch'.
