Government helping to pay off student debt is great, but what about current students and prospective students who are taking out larger loans than the

last generation of students? On top of that, they are having to struggle with out of control inflation. The American financial system is one giant Ponzi Scheme. Both parties continue to put us into debt. Republicans can no longer claim they're fiscally responsible. Both parties are destroying this country. Both parties continue to pour billions into the failing Ukrainian proxy war while millions of Americans are struggling. The senile imbecilic Biden walks around with that stupid smirk on his face and doesn't have a clue how to fix our economy. My generation won't even be able to collect any social security because all of the money will be gone.

All universities who receive taxpayer funding should have salary caps for their entire staff

Social security and other entitlement projects represent the overwhelming majority of US debit in the form of unfunded liabilities.

Not to mention that real inflation is far higher that the reported figures. So the only way for any politician to be honest is to commit political suicide by mentioning such things.

Historically, these kinds of things are only corrected after they implode on their own.

The rising cost of education has nothing to do with politics; believe it or not, little really does.

Rising administrative costs and salaries derive much of it. Schools are constantly updating and acquiring technology. And people are greedy. A University head should not make a million dollar salary.
@Graylight It also has to do with predatory lending and the government fully guarantees payment on these loans, therefore the lenders have nothing to lose. In the long run, the government will come after the students one way or the other. The lenders and schools have zero accountability. The school gets paid off the top, they don't care whether the student past or fails or whether the loan is paid back. It's not their problem.

@RocktheHouse Absolutey true.
They signed contracts and took majors that have zero real world validities, getting worthless degrees, us taxpayers should not be forced to bail them out.
