If someone had control, the world wouldn't be so chaotic. I think people often like to scapegoat their character flaws onto the institutions that harbor them. It's easier than working to change oneself.
@Penny I think both sides of the political fight are clad in their own bias. Casting shade does nothing but drive the people huddled in their camps closer together. It's impossible to tackle the situation when you're tackling groupthink. All of those people have come to be there for their own reasons, which may even contradict the reasons of their brethren. I see the Republican supporters as a patch-work group of people trying to find somewhere they belong. They're many minor denominations converging as one identity.
@Penny I would hate to live in a world of people who were exactly like me, it would be maddening to never have other perspectives. I sometimes think the world would be better if I were here alone, but it's usually only when I feel disempowered. Anyways, I just feel no matter what direction this conversation heads, you're going to shoot down whatever I have to say. I think this is arguing for the sake of arguing, and that's seldom conducive to anything.
