Excessive control in the hands of Government really makes me paranoid sometimes.

But then I think that Governments have always been way, way, way more powerful than normal people. So this time it's nothing different. Maybe even better.

I think any conclusion is contained in your statement as the control being "excessive", which by definition meams that it is more control than the government *ought* to have.
