Excessive control in the hands of Government really makes me paranoid sometimes.

But then I think that Governments have always been way, way, way more powerful than normal people. So this time it's nothing different. Maybe even better.

The problem with too strong of a government is that the people who get in control of it typically do not believe that all people are created equal and have unalienable rights. They think there should be a ruling class and a working class. The working class is not equal but is subordinate to the ruling class.
