I'd like to point out that the Nazis and the Mussolini Fascists allowed their supporters to commit political violence for them. The courts were rigged so that people knew if they attacked anti-fascist protesters, they wouldn't face any jail time. Basically, all political violence was illegal, but the law wasn't enforced if the violence was right-wing.

On a completely unrelated note, remember how Trump pardoned all the 1/6 insurrections? That was crazy, right?
