Hr practices honestly need to be re-evaluated in a bad economy

I'm seeing so many applications getting rejected as overqualified for a role.

You're getting extra skills at a discount, wtf are you doing lol

There'n no "wtf" about it but I hazard a guess that companies are afraid highly-qualified people will demand above the going rate for the posts even if their qualifications are not relevant to the work.

They may have "extra skills" but those may not be any use to the particular post and even company.
