Hr practices honestly need to be re-evaluated in a bad economy

I'm seeing so many applications getting rejected as overqualified for a role.

You're getting extra skills at a discount, wtf are you doing lol

Over the past year, AI has completely taken over HR screening, and over-qualified candidates are automatically rejected.

Because AI does not really understand humans and Resumes/CVs.

People tend to over-emphasize certain things, thinking they're making an impression. That's a rejection as far as the AI is considered based on the job requirements, because history (based on its data set), tells the AI that this person is going to bolt the second they get a better opportunity they're qualified for.

Or they could stating it as is, but the AI will come up with the same recommendation.

@Northwest yep, I'm seeing it first hand. The place where I work at doesn't have AI screening but the people in it seem to be following the same principles anyway, probably as some best practice thing. Next job I apply for I'm not listing anything above what they asked. Thank god I have a forklift licence where nobody gives a crap as long as you can drive the thing

@plungesponge I hand over recruiting and pre-screening to HR, and they use an AI app. However, the last 4 people I hired, were engineers I met at industry functions.
