CPI for February is out

The consumer price index increased 0.2% for the month, putting the annual inflation rate at 2.8%. This was lower than the respective Dow Jones estimates for 0.3% and 2.9%. Core CPI, which excludes volatile food and energy prices, rose 0.2% on the month and 3.1% for the past 12 months, both below expectations.

This is hardly an endorsement of tRUMP’s bizarre economic moves. For now, the markets are relatively flat and quiet.

We’ll see if tRUMP can refrain from publicly displaying his ignorance and not crash the markets for at least one day.

Inflation will increase as tariffs are imposed and when pre-tariff inventories are depleted.

@JimboSaturn Oh there is an absolute fiasco coming! That’s not a good CPI report at all for a new (in this case, mis-)administration.

It would have been worse if Joe Biden hadn’t stabilized the chaos tRUMP left him from Misadministration 45; Misadministration 47 will be MUCH WORSE!

Just imagine how awful our country & economy would be, how high inflation, how many more COVID deaths, how high the unemployment rate if tRUMP HAD WON THE 2020 ELECTION!

Thank God for four years of sanity to break up this tRUMP DYSTROPHY!

@JimboSaturn Yes—and misadministration 47 doesn’t have those few key stabilizers that misadministration 45 had such was General Kelly and others who kept him (just barely) from going completely off the deep end.

We also no longer have a “rule of law” SCOTUS and he has more horrible federal judges that he appointed in misadministration 45.

And, of course, the REAL BIG CHECK ON HIM IS MISSING—a Democrat controlled House.

Batten down the hatches, we’re in for rough weather!

@KunsanVeteran He has always worked that way. When he was a real estate developer, he simply didn't follow any environmental or municiple rules. He just paid the fines. He feels he is above the law.
