There is a movement going on called the Latino/Latina Freeze Movement

It's where you don't spend money in protest of the deportations as Latino GDP in the United States is the fifth largest in the world of roughly 3.7 trillion dollars. They ask that you spend as less as possible and give a list of businesses that kept their DEI policies as well as giving a list of businesses that scaled back in fear of trump.

Freeze the NIH? Freeze Diversity, Equity and Inclusion? Freeze immigration in the United States?

Did you know that the Latino GDP in the United States is the fifth largest in the world? 3.7 trillion dollars. Latinos also make up 20% of the population.

Latinos and Latinas stop spending money. Hold the line. We can all collectively make a big impact by simply holding and not spending our money.

Starting NOW until they show us they care about our minority and immigrant populations.

@trollslayer surprised the hell out of me about cost Co too, they been in the news lately battling out with trump on that. I still don't like corporations but it's nice to know that some aren't bowing down
Canada is calling for support of a similar movement whereby Canadian people don't by anything made in the US.

@HootyTheNightOwl Honestly it's a good idea. I hate that it's come to this because I wanted our economy to do better but Trump is weaponizing the immigration system. They are kidnapping immigrants who have work visas suddenly declaring them illegal and now Trump had threatened pro Palestinian people with deportation if they openly express their support. Trump has weaponized immigration to the point where he's trying to control opinion and keeping people from exercising their constitutional rights.

Don't really know what else to do that's in my power, I can't just say stop because they aren't going to
@SatanBurger Honestly... I'm not sure how to advise on that.

I'm scared, too. I have a former friend over there who should be an American citizen by now, but it's possible that Trump could go after him too since I suspect he also kept his other citizenship because he has family and friends still here.

He's also threatening the EU and the UK as well. It's like he either wants a global war or he's literally insane.

Choking the US of revenue likely won't do much other than send a message because they're not poor like Russia should have been. All Trump will likely do is pull the support of Ukraine... and maybe try to make good on his threats to invade because he feels like we are not prepared for war.

@HootyTheNightOwl I sometimes wish we had a big government-less mountain range called Zomia where persecuted Chinese groups disappeared from China and been living in tribes ever since for hundreds of years under their own laws. I know that's not feasible, though I've thought about it.

It's constantly under threat from states wanting to force their taxes on these people but different tribes been living successfully away from China's dictatorship for quite awhile.
