It's crazy how as we sink deeper into the global recession more and more absurd luxury spas pop up into existence

With higher and higher prices.
Who tf can afford an Egyptian Empress Pampering Sunday voucher that includes a steam bath, a body polish, a manicure, a pedicure, 5 kinds of facials with names after the 5 kinds of vitamins, a keratin treatment and a bikini laser?? Who has the money to pay for this sh.it?

Yeah, that's the poorer pandering to the richer which is what you need to do to survive.

Let's shit on big business instead. Those little spas are smalltime

@caccoon ummm. No. They're big businesses.
caccoon · 36-40
@turningthekeys which ones? They're chains?
turningthekeys · 31-35, F
@caccoon yep. Depilex for instance. Or the nail bar. In my country. Depilex is multinational now I think. There's others but I don't know a lot of names. All these advertisements just mocking us working class folks.

@caccoon This means I should leave my job and start a business too.

@turningthekeys are you currently working for a business you don't support?

Then yeah

@caccoon I work in healthcare. And I love it. I just........ Feel like the salaried and labouring class is being crushed. Why do I need a big ass flashy store to exclusively sell me overpriced over taxed vegetables when I can get them from a farmer's stand and support him? But the rich people refuse to pay the farmer a few extra bucks for fresh vegetables, and buy overtaxed veggies from the bougie new veg store on town. Wtf is this??? The rich are not supporting small businesses. They're just supporting large corporations. Now the salaried class goes to the farmer and the farmer wants a bigger profit because of the inflation. I give him that obviously because he's struggling just like us. But my salary is static but the inflation isn't. The money is circulating among the rich class. So my living conditions are shrinking. Wtf is this

@caccoon And they've added to our responsibilities at work which aren't technically a part of my contract but they haven't increased our pay. And they won't hire a person to do that stuff.

@turningthekeys yep, it's fucked all over. I'm an illustrator by trade but mostly just an artist, even though I hate that word. Course everything was shut down. I didn't take Cerb and just suffered

I work for the farmers market locally as well as a secretary and know a lot of farmers personally. Please keep supporting them.

It makes sense to keep our money where we can see it.
