@4meAndyou I define Communism as a system that does use socialist principles economically and in its equality of care, education, etc., for the citizens; but is otherwise a single-party committee-led ideology that allows no opposing political views.
I know many Americans are terrified of universal health-care, welfare and education systems, State-ownership of public utilities, and the like, because they wrongly regard that as "communism". They seem unable to see that many nations operate these social ideals and do their best to look after their citizens, while being nowhere near "communist".
You can be socialist and still be democratic- with a small 'd'.
