It’s So Cold Today I Put The Leftover Chicken Soup in the Unheated Sun room To Cool Down….9 F. Right Now…

and it’s 39F. In the garage and I’ll stick the soup out there so it don’t freeze solid, already got the leftover salad there. And a large clear covered storage tote with the extra fruit, veggies, juice etc. that wouldn’t fit in the refrigerator when I stocked up on Wednesday. Pretty good set up when there’s not much room in the refrigerator. Got enough to last me for a couple weeks. It’ll be so cold the next 9 days at least that I won’t be tempted to do any grocery shopping. I don’t want to go outside unless I have to.

It's 16F here this morning, and snowing. It's the tiny little flakes you come to recognize as "accumulative". It's supposed to snow all day today, and all day tomorrow.

I have a little sterno stove I can use to cook on, and lots of sterno, if we lose power. The building has a generator, and management sent out a storm information call telling us that if we lose electricity and have no heat, that the community room will be heated...but I don't want to hang out there. HARD chairs!

Sounds wonderful. it has been around zero all day today which is much warmer that the 20 below we had overnight on Friday. It still hasn't got really cold this year though. No -40s

Just be sure you keep your food in the garage inside that plastic bin. Otherwise, it will attract mice.

@Musicman He dressed warm with a hoodie coat. But he did something this morning that he shouldn’t have. He went outside for a while and shoveled snow to clear a path to the car. He did not wear gloves. When we were sitting at the table eating chicken soup I saw that his middle knuckles were red and swollen. Told him that was not a good thing to do. He said “Oh it doesn’t hurt” Told him not now but when he gets older it very well could hurt him and he better be wearing gloves if he does anything like that again. The high today was 10 degrees.
