This is why people hate tourists

Might I ask what you were expecting to find in Greece, ma'am?

Believe it or not, Greek food, art, music, even Greek people are often found in Greece. Shocking, I know!

i have a friend who worked as a bartender and if americans paid in american dollars they would do the exchange and return the change in canadian dollars....they would ask why....his answer....because you're in canada 🙄
In Italy I was more than grateful to camp in the wake of some Dutch people who made the supermarket stock up on mayonnaise, peanut butter and smoked herring. Tourists want what they want! Maybe next year she'll have both good food and good weather, somewhere!

In her defence, the report does say
Her ulcerative colitis, a condition that can be managed by avoiding certain foods, made much of the menu unsuitable for her.

Ultimately, it's no excuse, though. She should have done her research.

I honestly think even that part is bull.

The diet that assists in recovery requires low fiber, no diary , low fat, low gluten and no spices, and avoid whole grains..because of the fiber .

Greek foods can fit those requirements just the same as British ones..just requires minor adjustments.

@Miram True, and as I said it's no excuse for her comments.

I was in Greece last week!
basilfawlty89 · 36-40, M
@Jenny1234 it is a beautiful country.

I actually wondered if you have Greek ancestry
Jenny1234 · 56-60, F
@basilfawlty89 no I don’t have any
basilfawlty89 · 36-40, M
@Jenny1234 me neither.

Still fascinated by the culture.

My favourite when in Spain was overhearing one English woman confiding to another that Spaniards all talk English. They only talk Spanish for tourists!
Elessar · 31-35, M
This is on par with that tourist, also British, complaining there were too many Spaniards around in his vacation in Spain
DrWatson · 70-79, M
@Elessar On the other hand, I once read a travelogue by a Mexican-American who spent a year in Spain, and he wrote that there are so many British visiting the Mediterranean coast during the summer, that one shopkeeper actually put up a sign on his window: "aquí se habla español!"
Elessar · 31-35, M
@SW-User We have those too, it's just that for some reasons we don't export them much lol
Elessar · 31-35, M
@basilfawlty89 They should go back to Mexico!!111!!11!
That's the worst kind of British tourist. They want to be at home but with the weather. They hang out in British pubs and British bars and take their own ketchup with them 🙄 Probably have a fight on the flight over, which will be Easyjet or Ryanair. The ones who you see arriving home in shorts and t-shirts when it's 9°C in England and pouring with rain and they look like a baked bean with a slapped face 🙄

Think that is bad, look at the way we behave at home:

The hotel could use this in their advertising!

I’d be mad if I went to Greece and only found American food. Give me all the feta 🤤
basilfawlty89 · 36-40, M
@SwampFlower right? Like dang, I could go for some spanakopita right now!
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
I can tell you all about tourists. It's like they go on vacation and forget their brain.
Omg...for once, not an American!
