Is Ann Coulter mentally retarded?

I was listening to Ann Coulter debating legality of marijuana. Her argument for the reason why cannabis should be illegal and why alcohol should be legal is because "nobody drinks just to get buzzed, but people only smoke weed to get high." She also claims "It's a proven scientific fact that alcohol is not harmful to your health, in fact, it's beneficial to your health. Doctors says it's good for you." Woman, you need to see a proctologist to get your head removed from your own anus. Maybe even worse than that was "Crime went down during the prohibition of alcohol." ARE. YOU. FǓCKING. DAFT.

Well a panel of 3 judges who legalized it in my country on 31 March this yr, would disagree with her. I would also disagree with her and use 21 yrs of experiences as a policeman as proof of how bad alcohol is.

Also, according to statistics about 6000 people die in the USA per year from alcohol overdose. The amount of people who die from overdosing on weed is Zero.

@Wraithorn If I had to pick one drug that I think is the most destructive in human society, it'd be heroin. However, just behind heroin in the #2 spot would be alcohol.

@BlueMetalChick Alcohol actually comes from the arabic word al'khul which means "evil spirit". Peter Hitchens believes that if many years ago just before the introduction of alcohol, we knew the effects it had on health and society, we would not have introduced it. I would agree with him.

Unfortunately, a lot of what causes substances to be legalised, commercialised, illegalized etc comes down to what makes governments the most money. Governments are literally drug cartels.

@BlueMetalChick I also read recently that the USA is having a problem with too many deaths as a result of legal Opioids (painkillers). Whoever Ann Coultier is, I think she may be someone's stooge.

@pianoplayingsteve Well that's why marijuana is illegal. Marijuana is made from the hemp plant, and hemp is an incredibly useful thing. Hemp can be used to make clothing, paper, and the highest quality of rope. Hemp seeds can be eaten, and the plants themselves are excellent for cleaning polluted soil. However, the cotton and lumber industries refused to allow hemp to be legal because it would severely undercut them, so they said it has to be illegal because of marijuana.

@BlueMetalChick When a company creates a square piece of plastic with raises on to connect together (lego) and then decides that it should be licensed, rather than other people producing it, lowering the price and increasing the distribution of wealth, making a lot more people a lot more well off urgh. By all means, sell for a profit, but I believe the market should be free, and I don't think you should be able to buy a piece of paper to ensure you make way more than what your product is worth due to denying anyone the right to produce the same thing. It isn't even just a case of you can't make lego yourself and sell it as lego, that is a bit more understandable - you can't create blocks from your own plastic and sell it because it is similar to their product. I think that is damaging to the welfare of society, and goes against natural laws.
