There's no reason for us ordinary Americans to show liberals evidence of the things we know are true.

But honestly, there are people who are really like this. They commonly commit the fallacy of passing the buck. Their argument is build on a certain logic, but their viewpoint violates that very logic. It's like when Ayn Rand spent years hating on people who abused welfare but then just before she died it was discovered she'd been hoarding welfare checks from a secret P.O. box for over thirty years.
