How do oil lobbyists live with their actions?

They have got want they wanted (and paid for) with Trump pulling out of the Paris agreement on climate change. Obviously these people are too smart to think climate change is a hoax or think the denialism they fund is anything different to propaganda. Obviously its about money. Oil tycoons see their share price go up and pay the lobbyist a bonus. Surely they have kids and grand kids though?

@Burnley123: The United States has spent 3 billion dollars on the green climate fund with a goal of 100 billion by 2020 from developed countries to undeveloped countries. Of course more money will be needed.

I see it all as pointless because people are hypocrites. We have more third world cities with more than 20 million people crammed than not. I have viewed it from a satellite and you'd easily mistake it for a trash dump.

I was like oh that is quite a large trash dump! Then the inscription said it was a city and I was like 👀

In our oceans there's literally an island of plastic that just sits there. Obviously people don't care too much about where they live.

What businesses are starting to get is that crazy weather and rising ocean levels are actually bad for business. But if the companies start lobbying for something different then maybe the hoax stuff will fade out.

The deal with corporations is they have Ceos and lobbyist who only think about how they can maximise profits for their term so they can get their bonus.. and not the long term. It's a dying industry that will be left for dust because the other superpowers are focusing on developing renewable energies.

Yeah...it's obviously about money. As in the Republicans who are pulling in millions through their PACS from the fossil fuel industry.
But in this case there were actually oil companies encouraging him to not pull out. That's what I don't get.
