As an American who follows global events, I have an opinion, but frankly it's not my call. So I won't post my opinion in this text. Maybe...(maybe, not yes)... in the responses below.

@JarJarBoom: No, Brexit is not the equivalent of North Dakota saying "we don't want to be part of the US anymore". The United States of Europe does not exist - back in the 1970s the United Kingdom voted to remain in what we had joined: The European Economic Community (E.E.C. aka The Common Market). The EU is not the same animal at all.
