As an American who follows global events, I have an opinion, but frankly it's not my call. So I won't post my opinion in this text. Maybe...(maybe, not yes)... in the responses below.

Does it matter what celebs think? I mean, more than regular people. I don't know about the effect in Ireland, but I'm not buying the 'racist' argument. I think British culture has suffered from neglect, and an unwillingness to defend values. I think that's often pooh-poohed as racism, when it's clearly something else.
