How is socialism a dictatorship? Conservatism certainly is a dictatorship, Socialism isn't.

@Balint81: We came close to it in the late 1970s (just before I was old enough to vote), but alas the Conservatives got in and we've been living in a dictatorship ever since. From that, how is socialism a dictatorship?

@OhAngel: I wasn't talking about Communism or Marxism. If I meant those I would have used those terms. Only extreme right-wing nuts think Socialism is synonymous with Communism.

@OhAngel: The old Labour Party as it was in the 1970s wasn't a dictatorship. It only became a dictatorship after that evil dictator Tony Blair took over it in 1997.

@Bottomschmackenloudenboomer: the people in Europe who sit on top of the socialist party,came straight from the communist party..their mindset didn't change a lot
