The UK government are having talks with all the ISPs and phone companies to force unfiltered access to everyone's data.

They want back doors in all OS.

it's for our own security. I'd rather have my data out for no one to even notice than be bombed into bits, considering all communications occur via phone, it's totally understandable.

@SomeoneBetterthanBefore: This is a moronic response. To coordinate an attack, you'd get a burner phone and just text each other. Do you want someone to come into your house, put security cameras in every room, have access to all of your banking details, walk into your house whenever they like, go through your paperwork and photos without asking?

@NocturnalNomad: it's moronic to be paranoid about attention you're not getting unless you're involved in any suspicious activities.

@SomeoneBetterthanBefore: What makes you think the governement doesn't have you under surveillance as a terrorist suspect?

@suzie1960: what makes you think you are?

@SomeoneBetterthanBefore: I don't know whether I am or not, that's my point. Jean Charles de Menezes wasn't a terrorist but that didn't save him from being put under surveillance and ultimately gunned down by government agents.

@suzie1960: well I'm a brown muslim so I guess that's enough. But ya know I totally cooperate when they stop me at airports, when they don't treat me well, when I have to listen to hatred being spat in my face. But there are bad guys out there and wouldn't you wanna cooperate? I mean we're all on SW which does NOT promise us any encryption, if we're so paranoid why are we still here? This is an easy way to trace all of us, why are we still here if we don't want to accept this reality, instead of boycotting? All the apps that we download require us revealing our contact info, photos, location etc to the app people...why? It's ironic how everyone is complaining on SOCIAL MEDIA about no privacy....instead of actually taking a constructive step for our rights, if we even have those.

So who are "the bad guys"? The terrorists the government keep insisting are out there or the government itself?

@suzie1960: 😱 that reference.
