Do criminals in any "gun free" nations still find ways of getting and using weapons?

This is a serious question as I have zero knowledge on the subject in other nations being I do not live there.

Are you aware that there are no 'gun free' nations?
A battery of tests are required to get a gun in Japan. They have a .06 death rate by gun per 100,000 people. The country with the most guns per capita, the Unites States, (more than twice the guns per capita than any other country)is at around 11.

Less than 1 person per 1000 is permitted to own a gun in Japan so that rate seems about right
112 per thousand in the US
Now look at Central America and the gun death rates there and tell me all about how we should open our borders and give up our guns
I'm no gun freak but a realist. If you lived in a shitty neighborhood (not an island) would you leave your doors and windows open and throw away your protections?

@THEBIGM: No. It's 112 guns per 100 people in the United States.

And it's not about being permitted to have a gun in Japan. You can't have pistols but you can have other weapons. It's what a gun owner has to go through before they're given a permit that keeps them out of the hands of anyone who wants to walk in to a store and purchase a weapon.

You lost me on the open border stuff dude. Believe it or not, it's much safer in Mexico when it comes to gun deaths.

And "give up your guns?' Dude...you can't name ONE politician who has EVER said that Americans should 'give up their guns." Stop. Just stop.

Sorry dude. I don't get the fear thing. It doesn't drive me. And I live in a huge city where REAL gun violence takes place.
