I get that lots of people hate Barack Obama. And there's plenty of reasons to. But what's this shit with people saying he's a Kenyan Muslim?

Cone on guys, really? Are we still doing this? It's 2017 now.

has anyone realized that horace greenly makes wide bold wide statements but can not explain any of them? seems like a troll to me
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
I am not a troll. I am merely offering an opinion different from yours that you don't like.
ladycae · 100+, F
@HoraceGreenley: then why don't you answer any questions? you said obama hurt you deeply, desperately, painfully. i asked what he did, you didn't answer. you make comments like he didn't make a single vote in the illinois senate, yet his record disproves that. you posted musim pics about obama and still haven't answered why you did that. you say you exaggerate things to prove a point. lying never proves a point. so yeah i think you are a troll. i can accept anyone's opinion if they are polite about it. but trolls deliberately do incendiary things to get a reaction and your replies in this post are troll posts or you would answer the questions and explain your options.

and i bet you still won't answer
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@HoraceGreenley: Her comment might be a bit loquacious but she's right, you're saying things and then avoiding responding when people ask you for logic and reasoning.
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@ladycae: @BlueMetalChick: I have been very busy. I have other things to do.

I'll get back to you when I have a chance.
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@ladycae: btw, I am not trying to be a troll. I have legitimate issues.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@HoraceGreenley: Very well. I am traveling abroad right now and my time here has been limited as well. I am in Zagreb in Croatia right now seeing some family.
ladycae · 100+, F
@HoraceGreenley: than answer the questions. you have enough time to post all over the place. you are just making excuses like the troll you are.
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@ladycae: Why is it so important to you?

Why should I care what you want?
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@ladycae: I have 2 basic premises that underpin my positions:

1. Capitalism is the most moral economic system
2. American military and diplomatic power is the greatest power for good in the world.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@HoraceGreenley: I disagree strongly with both of those. The fact that big business basically owns all of government now has proven how much of a monstrosity capitalism has become. American military power has done more to hurt people than it has to help. Just ask all of Central America.
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@BlueMetalChick: That's what I figured you'd say.

My final thought before I go to bed:

I all of human history only one economic system has been able to elevate the majority of a societies citizens out of poverty.

That is capitalism.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@HoraceGreenley: False. Capitalism has never elevated the majority of a society's (learn how to use a possessive, please) out of poverty. Not compared to their ruling class. This remains true today. The comparison between the ruling class and the majority of the society has always been at its most stark contrast when free market is involved.

That is capitalism.

@HoraceGreenley: you still have not answered my question. you specifically said obama did horrible despicable things to YOU. not the country, YOU. i want to know what he did that was so horrible to YOU personally. i want to know why you posted muslim pics in a post about obama's background yet say you believe he is not muslim, what were you trying to say? You said he didn't make a single vote in the illinois senate while his record sws something quite different

During his first years as a state senator, Obama was a co-sponsor of a bill that re-structured the Illinois welfare program into the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program. He also helped get various pieces of legislation that established a $100 million Earned Income Tax Credit for working families, increased child care subsidies for low-income families, and required advance notice before mass layoffs and plant closings passed.[28]

responsive to requests for state funding, getting money for churches and community groups in his district

In January 2003, Obama became chairman of the Health and Human Services Committee, after six years on the committee and four years as its minority spokesman. The new Democratic majority allowed Obama to write and help pass more legislation than in previous years. He sponsored successful efforts to expand children's health care, create a plan to provide equal health care access for all Illinois residents, and create a "Hospital Report Card" system, and worker's rights laws that protected whistleblowers, domestic violence victims, equal pay for women, and overtime pay.[28] His most public accomplishment was a bill requiring police to videotape interrogations and confessions in potential death penalty cases. Obama was willing to listen to Republicans and police organizations and negotiate compromises to get the law passed.[38] That helped him develop a reputation as a pragmatist able to work with various sides of an issue.[27] Obama also led the passage of a law to monitor racial profiling by requiring police to record the race of drivers they stopped.[39][40]

so what you said was untrue. why would you make things up if your not a troll. and why should it matter what i think? wel f you actually do have a logical point to make perhaps realizing how much you muddied the waters and no one quite knows what you are trying to say you might learn how to present your ideas in a better fashion. in other words people want to know the why's of your claims before they will except them. you have made and done some incendiary claims. so what are the facts behind them. no answers, no facts then no truth and your a roll
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@BlueMetalChick: First I am not a great typist, especially on my phone.

Second my statement about capitalism is in fact true. Any review of history bears this out. If you can't acknowledge historical fact, there is no point in continuing.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@HoraceGreenley: So "historical fact" is now synonymous with "something I made up right now?"
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@BlueMetalChick: OK. I'm not going to argue this point. If you can't accept the fact that the majority of American citizens don't live in poverty because of capitalism, then there is no point in continuing.
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@ladycae: I am not going into Barry's record as a state legislator. And I have no doubt his Wikipedia pages are written by one of his staffers.

As President, Barry only sent 1 budget to Congress. It was his first year in office. The Senate wouldn't even vote on it because it was ridiculous. So despite being required by law to submit a budget to Congress for the next 7 years the US federal government operated without a budget.

Now before I get into the economic ramifications of massive federal debt, artificially manipulated interest rates, over-reaching federal regulation which all contributed to the lowest labor participation rates in 35 years, a net loss of per capita income and the worst GDP performance since the Depression, do you accept capitalism as the most viable economic system? Because if you do not, you'll never understand my economic explanation.

The anti-business stance of the Obama Administration hurt me personally. As a small business owner that provides IT Consulting and Staffing, I had to cut my compensation drastically, take no pay for long periods so my employees could get paid and lay off good people.

Most businesses in my space when out of business. Large amounts of business contacts of mine lost their jobs. I know people that lost their businesses, those their jobs, lost their homes, lost their cars and could not send their children to college.

The amount of pain caused by the anti-business positioning of the Obama Administration is incalculable.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@HoraceGreenley: The reason they don't live in poverty is not because of capitalism. I'm sorry but no amount of pretending really hard is going to change that. You could even argue that the majority of American citizens DO live in poverty when you compare their wealth with that of the ruling class. It could be called extreme poverty. That might be a bit of a stretch though.

Notice how you conveniently forgot to mention that socialist countries that exist right now have populations in which the majority of people don't live in poverty? Or did you think that wasn't important because you don't like that? Go ask a Swede. Ask a Finn or a Norwegian or a Dane. Ask an Icelander. They'll all tell you.
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@BlueMetalChick: You know, I have no interest in continuing this conversation. I'm not going to change your mind and you're not going to change mine.

I don't have the time and frankly, talking to you is not fun. Say whatever you want about me to your friends while you engage in mutual mental masturbation.

I don't care.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@HoraceGreenley: No no, you don't get to do that. Don't run away like a pussy. I asked you a question. If capitalism is the only economic system which has brought the majority populace out of poverty, then why is socialism doing it right now? Do you have an answer? Or are you just going to admit you were making shit up?
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@BlueMetalChick: The countries to which you refer, the Western European countries like France and Germany are not completely socialistic. They are Statism countries that practice a Capitalism/Socialism hybrid. Prior to WWII they were more capitalistic, but they still retain a strong capitalism component. The fact that they elevated a majority of their populations out of poverty is due to capitalism not socialism.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@HoraceGreenley: Those are not the countries I named. I was referring to Scandinavia, most of which was monarchy prior to the modern age.

'Cept for Denmark, I think they were capitalist. Weird fact, Denmark has the highest concentration of wind turbines of any country. I...have a memory for weird random shit.
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@BlueMetalChick: I'm including the Scandinavian countries as well in my answer.
