If it was proved accurately

That Obama was indeed born in Kenya like his half brother and grandmother claim, would you still acknowledge his Presidency as legal or would you be sickened that something like that could be perpetrated against US Citizens? The fact he would not have been legal to be President.

Look. The former President of the United States was born in America. How do we know? By using the exact same measure of proof demanded of any US citizen. A birth certificate was provided, and yes, it was a legitimate, proper form birth certificate as verified by the hospital of his birth.

Let me ask you: Aside from the obvious duplicity of lying about an issue, would it matter to you that he was born in another country? How crucial is it that a president be born on domestic soil? Certainly, we've shown we grow terrorists here like crops. What about his presidency was made worse by the "possibility" he was born elsewhere? Where was the uproar when someone like Schwarzenegger, born not only abroad but in the same land as Hitler, was elected to office? Seems to me like stirring a pot that doesn't need stirring.

@bigjohndl: I seem to have erred, based on some informal arguments I had with my dad, who also believes the "we don't know where he was born" crap. Congress didn't certify him, instead, challenges to his citizenship status were thrown out by various courts for lack of standing.

But hey, since you want to bring sources into it, how about some sources for your claims of persecution by the feds. Because I'm pretty sure that's just as wrong as your claim that he didn't produce his birth certificate until after the 2nd election. It's been available online since 2008: http://web.archive.org/web/20080922222958/http://fightthesmears.com/articles/5/birthcertificate

yeah, okay, quote Wikipedia for your source. Next you want to quote Snopes, I assume?

Well, he was the first to claim he was born in kenya, in his own book. Which he later claimed was a "mistake". Who cares at this point, he has surpassed jimmy carter as the worst president of modern times. Can't get more illegitimate than that.
katielass · F
@bigjohndl: Two sets of rules, remember.
bigjohndl · 70-79, M
@katielass: That is so true. Funny they are demanding we shut up and recognize Obama as a legitimate President, but they refuse to recognize Trump.
katielass · F
@bigjohndl: The list of examples of their double standard is so long, it should be in the Guinness World's Book of Records under longest list ever. But really, isn't it interesting how nothing is ever their fault.
OggggO · 36-40, M
I honestly wouldn't give a damn. Where one is born is a matter of chance. He was a citizen, a constitutional lawyer, and a senator, and he did a damn fine job as president. Him having been born on fucking Mars would not have changed that. So prove away, it's matters not one little bit.
katielass · F
@OggggO: Aww, how lucky for you that I didn't bother record the collection of tapes showing him at different locations, wearing different clothes, with those words coming out of his mouth. You can still live in denial. Who cares. You're only one vote. Or are you.
OggggO · 36-40, M
My, but aren't we paranoid and self important. You wouldn't need to have personally recorded it. This is the internet, if it happened more than once, someone would have documented it. Since there isn't any such evidence, the only logical conclusion is that it happened only once. In May 2008 at a stop in Oregon, that's it.
OggggO · 36-40, M
@bigjohndl: I answered the question in the very first sentence of my first post here. And you are the one that brought up Trump, not me.

If the moon was proven to be made of cheese would I still refuse to eat it? And, if so, would it not prove that I had such terrible confirmation bias?

If so I will heartily apologise on behalf of all cheese moon sceptics.

Huge if. But I'm always in favor of the truth, whatever it might be. It'll still be the truth whether I know it or accept it - or not.

Won't it.
katielass · F
Exactly, refusing to accept the truth will never make it untrue. Or vise versa.
GJOFJ3 · 61-69, M
President Obama was elected and served two successful terms. He was fully qualified and legitiment.
GJOFJ3 · 61-69, M
@bigjohndl: I for one wouldn't care a wit. As we say in court. Asked and answered.
bigjohndl · 70-79, M
LOL, if you are quoting from court, then wouldn't you have to have evidence of proof? I thought nothing is fact until it is proved especially in court.

Have a great day! Off for breakfast with the grandchildren.

Jackaloftheazuresand · 26-30, M
I actually wish people that have been established despite birthplace could be able to become president
OggggO · 36-40, M
@katielass: So, if someone was born in say, Canada, or Panama, then they shouldn't be allowed to be president?
katielass · F
@OggggO: They can't be president because the constitution says they can't.
OggggO · 36-40, M
So then, why were they allowed to run?

@Greenbare: What the fuck does that even mean? I also try to be civil when discussing politics, but seriously this is just crazy rambling.
johnsonjohnson3 · 41-45, M
@Greenbare: I like how you can so ignorantly think you know how much or how little you think I care about my county. You have no clue about me. I don't make those judgements about you. I don't judge your motivations. Just your intelligence. By the way, you failed. Have fun with Levin and Hannity and Coulter and the rest of the crazies.
bigjohndl · 70-79, M
@Greenbare: That is true, but not one state checked to be sure. When Oklahoma tried to on the 2nd term, they were threatened with federal lawsuits and federal money withheld, as were several other states
At this point it doesn't matter. What's done is done. We still got dumbass conspiracy theorists who claim Russians hacked our elections. Take of the tinfoil hats. LOL
Pherick · 41-45, M
They didn't "hack" them. They certainly influenced them.
tinfoil hat wearing conspiracy theorists are alive and well in both political parties.
johnsonjohnson3 · 41-45, M
True, but not in any way equally. It's nutty on the far left. And absurd on the far right. And the far right has a lot more energy and ignorance behind it right now. In 20 years that could be the opposite. But there's no disputing that this is true now
johnsonjohnson3 · 41-45, M
Drink more crazy Kool-Aid!
bigjohndl · 70-79, M
I am posing a question. It has already been let go. Just wondering IF it was proved.

Same thing can be said for liberals. Trump won the election, just let it go, man. He is your President whether you want it or not.
johnsonjohnson3 · 41-45, M
Umm... what am I not letting go?
