What is ObamaCare and why is it so good/bad?

Speaking as someone from the UK, I have no idea what ObamaCare is. Why did Obama create it and why does Trump want to get rid of it?

It is unconstitutional to fine people for not buying something. That's one of the main reasons to get rid of it.

So do you think the uninsured motorist fee that drivers without car insurance have to pay is unconstitutional as well?

I no longer want to pay anybody in Washington DC but if I don't pay my taxes I will be incarcerated?

@Makemeluvit: Taxation without representation

@StrangeWorld: No one has to drive a car, that's an option.
Makemeluvit · 36-40, F
@cherokeepatti: true- so is going to the doctor- if they simply turned all uninsured away at the door instead it would lower the costs drastically- just as it would if there were no accidents with uninsured motorists

@cherokeepatti: You only just made my point....you can avoid car insurance by just not driving. So why should you be able to avoid health insurance if you are still living and breathing?
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Makemeluvit: Then if that is important why don't they cover naturopaths instead of killing them?
Makemeluvit · 36-40, F
They do- they simply have to prove that the treatments they provide actually produce an intended result- that's why they don't currently cover pcychics as a mental health treatment alternative
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Makemeluvit: haha they don't and prevention is much cheaper than treatment after a condition becomes chronic

Acupuncture once fell under this category and look at it now- proving itself and being all covered and everything

@cherokeepatti first you use the term uncontitutional, it is not covered in the Constitution and the court disagreed with you. Naturopathy aren't licensed in some states, in others they are and are covered by insurance, as are chiropractors acupuncturists, etc.
